Small and Medium set of English stoneware jars
A lovely pair of English natural stoneware conserve jars from the early twentieth century, in tones of cream and beige, one medium or 1lb size and one small.
Both are in good condition with various age related marks and with some little bumps under the glaze and scrapes to the base, typical of these jars that give them a lovely rustic feel and look.
- The larger jar is plain. It has a chip near it's base. It measures 14 cm and has a diameter of 9 cm.
- The smaller jar measures is decorated with a stripe pattern and has Hartley's markings to the base. , It measures 10 cm and has a diameter of 7.5 cm.
They would look beautiful displayed as part of a collection or would make a great addition to a kitchen shelf. They would be equally at home in a vintage style or modern home, and they are a handy size meaning they could be used as utensil pots, pen pot or plant pots, as well as preserve pots or jam jars as originally intended. I also like to use them as vases. A great way of adding a farmhouse feel to your kitchen.
