Victorian green glass piano rests
A pair of Victorian green glass piano rests or castor insulators. These insulators were placed under the castors of pianos or heavy furniture to avoid damage to floors or carpets. Nowadays they can be used at attractive tealight holders, or to catch the light on a window sill.
These piano rests show signs of a purposeful life with some chips and marks within the glass which I have tried to show in the photos. These do not distract from the attractive and unique pieces of glass that they are and they look wonderful on display. They are chunky and heavy (approx. half a kilo each) and beautiful! A wonderful little piece of social history.
They measure 8.5 cm in diameter and 5 cm high. Price is for the pair.
